SEICHO studied the teachings of Shingon Buddhism while a student at Koyasan University, Japan and graduated from there in 1981. He has received many transmissions from such noted masters as: Abbot Zenkyo Nakagawa, Abbot Kankyo Takami, Bishop Kosho Kitayama and others. He came to the United States in 1981 to propagate the teachings and has been active within all segments of the community; these activities include teaching Buddhist philosophy, vegetarian cooking, Taiko drum making and the perfomance of rituals. He was a representative to Board of Director of Interfaith Council for the United Nations from 1988 to 1991. In 1996 Seicho translated the book, Shingon Esoteric Buddhism and is currently residing minister at Northern California Koyasan Temple, where he has been training his disciples.
